Maa Satyabati Devi

Sati Ma..Maa Satyabati Devi, the lady through whom we have been able to come near the great saint Jagagadish baba. She is the daughter of late Dwarakanath  Burman  and hells from a very aristocratic family being closely related to the ‘raj’ family of Tajhat , “Satima’s” childhoods was spent among the royal splendor of Tajhat .

She got married to a hash official attached to the west Bengal government. She has one daughter  was  only eleven month old, she was with her husband at birbhum in 1963 , where she, for the first time met Jagadish  baba . On the very first meeting, her transformation began within herself and she started developing a dis like for the everyday worldly lifer. In fact from that very day, she took upon Jagadish baba as her “Guru” and dedicated herself completely. Being moved by her sense of devotion and sincerity, Jagadish baba accepted her to be his disciple.

Gradually “Sati Ma” started experiencing spiritual enlightenment and cut off all worldly connection with her past life, many people have come to her to satisfy their thirst for mother’s love. She being of deeply loving and kind in nature can truly be called the “Mother” of us all. The world today needs such a Mother who will offer solace and comfort to the needy and dying souls. She is always yearning for the well being of her children. To translate these ideas of hers into realities she desperately needs an “Ashram”. And Guru Ji Sri Jagadish Baba founded this Shatan ashram.

As in Sahskrit “Swatan” means My Body for that reason Guru Ji told this world that Sati Maa is Swatan means she was Guru ji, and he told  the name of this ashram is Shatan Ashram as he was calling Sati Maa as Shatan Maa.
